please don't tell me that i'm dreamingALL I EVER WANTED WAS TO DREAM ANOTHER SUNSET WITH YOU ------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was just like Emily to pick a place no one else would have considered a hang out spot. The fact that the sun was just barely behind the trees that circled the small cementary, actually made it a lot more romantic than scary. Even at night, it was so prettied up, and had lights in the corners of the entire thing, that it would be impossible to be really scared, unless you were just that paranoid and frightened of everthing. Besides, Em was very aware that television was the reason cementaries were considered so scary and taboo for the young ones. They protrayed it as some dark and creepy place. To Emily, she saw it as a place of peace, and understanding. To finally be at peace with this world, to be one with it, that was what death really meant. No one wanted to lose a loved one, but it was part of the circle of life - for some people anyway. She was fully aware that some of her cousins weren't exactly growing old. A family of werewolf blood, she had come to know. Emily was a child who never gave up on trying to find the answers to things. But she also kept secrets really well too. "I should have brought a jacket." she said, loudly enough as though she were actually talking to someone. You might think she had accidentally walked into the cementary on one of her many crusades, but the truth was that she had deliberately come her, and to meet someone too. This someone was a person who she had become close to, become friends with. But he was unlike any friend she had ever known. He made her feel nervous, made her wonder what he thought. Emily Black never wondered about what people thought. She loved that she could be so close to him though. She was the type of friend who didn't know what personal space was, at least not most of the time. If she had it in her mind to do something, she'd do it. She often hugged Leo, whether he wanted her to or not, and when she didn't do that, she'd put a hand to his face in a sweet gesture, in that cute Emily way she always did. The cold nipping at her arms reminded her of the cold of his cheek. The thought alone warmed her.
Emily had a lot of friends, which was typical, because of her bubbly and kind nature. People always wanted to be friends with her - she was use to it. There weren't many people she didn't get along with, but if she didn't, it was often because how they treated someone else. Emily was known for being the biggest humanitarian, and activist that anyone had ever met. She took it to a farther reach than most. That attracted that many more friends, hoping to bask in her triumphs and be like that too. Some of her friends just knew her for the spontaneous and active musician - like Kyla, Charlie, and Meila. Others knew her as a crazy, free spirited, energetic, partier - like her cousin Hunter. With Leo, she got to be all those things and something different. She liked being alone with him. He always held his side of the conversation, and interesting ones at that. She loved his theories, and all the things they talked about. He went along with her crazy passionate in the moment ideas, and didn't mind wherever she dragged him along to. Or at least, he never seemed to complain. He'd go miles and miles away with her if she asked, and he had become one of her close friends. ( Good thing I finally got the nerve to talk to him. ) She laughed at herself as she stepped around a grave, looking for something in particular. He had made her feel shy about talking to him for so long. For once in Emily's entire life, she hadn't done something she wanted to as soon as she thought it, and that was talk to him. It wasn't because of intimidation, at least not in a bad way. He was attractive, mysterious, and she liked the way he looked around. She noticed little things when she looked at him, that she never noticed with other people.
If she had been trying, she would have found the spot by memory that she'd been to tons of times. Her thoughts of Leo had simply distracted her. She smiled as she bent down, placing the daisies in her hand across the cold marble of the headstone. Spencer Black, was the name that read on it. Emily wasn't without emotion, and she had cried before, for a good many times when she had come, but she didn't now. She knew her cousin was at peace, even if she missed her. "I miss you Spence." she said as she traced the letters of her cousin's name with her first two fingers. The cold stone sent shivers up her arm. She had come a lot of times before to tell her how things were going, and that she loved her. This hadn't been her reason for coming to the cementary, but while she was there, figured she'd say a word or two to the person she missed. She stood back up, and turned. There weren't many other things to say. She knew that wherever Spencer was now, she was watching over them all, and knew very well all that was going on. She walked from the graves, to a small stone building on the side, in the middle. The black metal gate was open, and inside, there was a stone tomb, but it was slightly open, and empty. It was perfectly preserved, and amazingly, nothing had gotten into it. She sat on the steps down into it and sat sideways so the gate was to her left. "Where are you, Leo?" She twisted a piece of cloth in her hand, something she had taken off of the flowers for Spencer. She wrapped it around her wrist and tied it messily before smiling as she heard what she swore was footsteps. She hoped it was Leo, instead of the grounds caretaker. He was a nice old man, and talked to her often when she came, but she really didn't want to talk to anyone but Leo, right now, just because she wanted to see him. It had been a while since her last adventure she took him on, and it was about time she had another. She didn't want to waste her energy on talking, if it wasn't to Leo.

Sucking in a breath of unneeded air, the pale let his comfortably copper colored eyes scan the darkened area for a time. This place had a whole other meaning behind it, while it was so silent, so peaceful, that held so much history beneath it. There was a completely different side to it though, something that actually managed to send chills down the vampire’s spine, he was in a place that he knew he would never really be able to come to rest. He was walking among the dead, they rested oh so peacefully in their caskets, where they would have an eternal sleep, while he would be like them, dead. But to forever roam this earth, as the living dead, to have no beating heart where his rib cages still kept his heart safe, it was something that often wandered his mind. Shaking his head, he told himself that he needed to clear his mind of these thoughts; it was hardly the thing to be thinking about at this time. Especially since he was going to see someone, that someone who actually makes him feel like he was a living person, that he wasn’t just some sort of monster. Now, he never thought that way because he was oh so cliché and thought that he would jump a human at the slightest scent of blood, but because of the things that he had done in the past, things he would never really be able to repent for. Wrinkling his nose, Leo mentally slapped himself across the face, hadn’t he only just started to tell himself that he shouldn’t be thinking about things like this? But where had his mind gone back to almost instantly? The things that he hated his mind focusing on, especially since he didn’t want that person to see those thoughts that ran through his mind, for her to sense that there was something wrong. Especially since Leo loved that smile that always seemed to grace her features, especially when she saw him; maybe he was just crazy but the time he had with her, when they were alone, and that smile that he got, he almost felt like it was for him alone. Like there were certain things, like that smile, like how she acted, was when she held those in for when it was the two of them, and he loved it. It was his, he felt, and his alone, a sort of present, that whether or not she knew it, that she had given him.
Gently tracing his fingers over the tops of gravestones as he passed them, Leo carefully scanned the area glancing over his shoulder was something that had become one of his habits. Especially since coming here, to this state when he knew that he should have been back in Britain, but that wasn’t the case, and he truly was much happier to be here, than back home. As a soft wind began to blow Leo inhaled the familiar scent of Emily, and he knew that she was not too far off from where he was walking now. Perhaps he would play a game of hide and go seek with her, only it would be more like he would make her wonder where he was while he quietly watched her from not too far off. And while Leo did know, in the back of his mind that this was probably not his best idea, it was still something that he was very much so bent on doing. Pushing some of the deep brown hair from his face as he slowly moved forward once more, this time following the familiar scent as he carefully listened to his surroundings. Though this was hardly something that Leo found to be hard, something that he would consider as difficult, especially since he found that her scent was something that almost never changed. At least not to him, for her it would always be something that would be considered as alluring, something that drew him simply closer to her. Then again, knowing that he wanted to be able to study her from farther away, maybe it could be considered as a problem, since instead of managing to stay farther away from the dark haired girl, it simply made him want to come closer to where she was. Biting the bottom of his lip as he stopped a few good paces away from where the female stood, he quietly looked her over from the back, and no, it was not in that weird sexual way.
It was a simple curiosity that fueled him right then, something that he had seen so often, especially when she was only starting to get to know him, and him her. Seeing as how she had kept her distance well enough, but Leo could honestly say that he was very glad that things had changed since then. That the two of them had become so close, and while there had been certain words that had never been spoken out loud. Leo felt like maybe there was something more there, something so much more than just a simple friendship. At the thought of this, Leo felt a small smile come to his features and he gently shook his head, while he remained there silently for another couple minutes he slowly made his way towards where Emily stood. Even if that alone, only took him a couple more minutes, and he could hear Emily questioning just where he was. Seeing the approaching man that Emily seemed to turn to look at, Leo nodded politely towards the other male but besides that he chose to remain silent, until slowly coming to stop behind her and gently place a hand on one of her shoulders. “You really should learn to keep yourself warmer, I wouldn’t want you to catch an illness.” a small hint of a smile playing at his features as he looked down towards her, then removed the jacket that he had chosen to wear that day. Knowing very well that he held little need for it at the time, and knowing at the same time, or at least strongly guessing that Miss Emily Black definitely did need it. Letting his cold hand once more come to rest on her shoulder, though this time it was only there a few seconds while he placed the worn brown leather jacket down onto her shoulders. ”It truly would be very saddening to see you come down with some sort of illness that you humans are so susceptible to.” it was his own, odd, sort of joke and he couldn’t help but smile a bit as he then came to stand beside the female.

please don't tell me that i'm dreamingALL I EVER WANTED WAS TO DREAM ANOTHER SUNSET WITH YOU ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Emily's face lit up as a hand lay on her shoulder, and a voice she knew so well filled the air. The sound was sweet, smooth, and unlike any other person's voice. That voice had carried with it so much information in their time together, so much caring, advice. She appreciated the feeling it gave her, how it soothed every aching part in her gut that was flipping nonstop. She turned looking completely into his eyes, and smiled while biting her lip. She was glad that he was finally here and although she had waited a litte bit, she no longer remembered the wait or what she was really doing before his arrival. She looked down at her arms, the raised hairs and chilled pale skin illuminated by the light of the sun that was near to setting. She couldn't see it, and even if the trees were gone, clouds would probably cover it anyway. The lighting somehow made the features of Leo's face stand out that much more perfect. "I do have a habit of forgetting a jacket, don't I?" she said, shrugging her shoulders. "I am sure that I'll get it right at some point." Her smiled widened as she wrapped her arms around his middle and put her head to his chest, listening to his breathing. She knew he didn't have to, knowing what he was, but the whorls and small stops in his breath soothed her. She stepped back after a few minutes and put her hand on his cheek. "Just like I remembered." She had been fascinated with his 'condition' since she had known him. She knew a little of vampires, and when seeing him had guessed he was one, but learning small things about him and his species left her dumbfounded. There had been so much more than the myths, or the simple things that she thought were all there were to know, and the fact that he shared it with her at all, made her feel like she had something special, of his, to share, and that she was the only one outside of that world with him who could share it and understand it.
She smiled and hugged the jacket to her body as he placed it on her shoulders. It smelt like him, and while he was cold, and the air around was, it had a warmth to it much different than anyone else had. She liked it, and held it close. She was almost glad she had left her jacket at home and that she had ended up being so cold. It was something sweet he did for her, like so many other things. He had become her best friend in such a short time, and for once, Emily wasn't ashamed of how she was around a guy. Not at all, actually. She relished in the idea of being close to his heart in a metaphorical sense, and loved that they could share things no one else would share, much less with them. It felt like a special connection, one that could never be duplicated, and no one at all ever could or would make Emily feel like this. It was special, unique, and out of this world. "Well thank you, good sir." she joked, spinning slowly left to right in his jacket. "Does it befit me?" she said, pulling her arms away from her to peer at the sleeves, then putting them back and looking down. "I think so." She laughed at his joke, a joke she liked since she shared information with him about his life that no one else knew. It felt like being let in on the biggest of secrets, and she liked that. "Indeed. Why I could fall ill right here and now from my being so fragile!" she gasped jokingly as she giggled lightly. She grabbed his hand and pulled him along into the further middle of the cementary before turning on him and then looking right into his eyes with a serious expression. "And what were you doing earlier that it took you so long to get here? You nearly missed our latest adventure!" she said, the seriousness wearing off as she finished.
Emily never really planned the things they would do, so much as choice a place and let it come to her. Most times, they found a spot few others had been to - a place they could share together for a while, and then they'd talk about everything from his theories, to both of their lives, to the future, about possibilities, and interesting theories about the universe. They shared all thoughts together, and could waste hours away talking. Emily, while bubbly and conversational in the first place, never talked nearly as much as she did with her dearest friend, Leo. There were times even, she'd find herself thinking of things friends probably shouldn't think, but disregarded them as harmless natural thoughts ( because who wouldn't think he was attractive ). And then when she went to far in thought or idea of action, she'd mentally halt herself, remind herself of all the hurt she'd been through, and that she was his friend, and she doubted that he would ever feel for her that way. She could list a thousand reasons why it was wrong, but something pulled at her telling her that she was wrong for thinking it. She tried not to think about it, knowing very well that she wasn't good in relationships, wasn't good for anyone anymore, and that their friendship was something special. It could be ruined, he could be offended by the idea of her thinking it, so whenever those thoughts seemed to slip up, she pushed them down, pretending like they weren't there, weren't real and very obviously screaming for the thing she really should do. She pulled her arms around her, feeling worse than cold again. It wasn't from the air though, it was because he body and mind were trying to tell her something, something she was pressing hard against to not believe, but something her heart knew was real.

there is a stone wall around your heart NOTHING LEFT TO DO BUT START . -------------------------------------------- He couldn’t help but have his own smile come to his features; just that sudden jolt of happiness that seemed to awaken in Emily was almost like a chain reaction for him. To simply smile as soon as he saw that jolt, to know that he was the reason to that sudden change in emotion. Maybe one of the reasons that Leo had found himself so drawn towards Emily was because of the fact that she was alive. That she had a beating heart, and that she needed to breath in order to keep on living, to have those organs continue to function. Those were the things that he hadn’t felt, that he barely remembered, from about two hundred and fifty years ago, and while he knew he once had them, it was different when you were so close with someone who would always have them. When it came to him realizing that she had begun to speak once more, and what it was that she was saying he couldn’t help but chuckle slightly, he just found her to be so cute, whether or not she wanted him to ever really call her that. ”Well, perhaps you should write yourself a little note, before you go out each time.” He said as he rubbed his chin in thought, before that gentle smile seemed to return to his features when he felt her arms around him. His own arms coming to fold gently around her, and while it was a short amount of time, it was still something he enjoyed greatly. More than simply enjoyed it would be much more correct, and when her arms let go he then had his own arms let go as well, and he gently nodded, ”I would certainly hope so, it would be odd if it felt warm all of the sudden, perhaps I would be melting, or something along the lines of that.” a playful smile coming to his features once again, knowing very well the chances of that ever really happening, seemed to be more than simply slim. Never once, in his years of being on earth had he ever heard of a condition where a vampire would suddenly become warm and start to melt away. Then again, in that old movie that he had seen once, that Wicked Witch melted away simply because water was poured on top of her.
