he stands there then walks away, my god, if i could only say i'm holding every breath for you. -------------------- felt like this. Really, though, what they depicted in those movies (which she had discovered the existence of a few days earlier, much to her delight, coincidentally forgetting she had to pay for each one until a rather rude usher lead her out) was limited to human feelings, or that was what she had thought. Parker furrowed her eyebrows, head bowed with her hands tucked inside the pockets of her jeans as she walked through the mall aimlessly; she had gathered the mall was a widely popular place for entertainment among mortals, however dirty and money-sucking they were, and she was right in that assumption as the colorful attractions of arcade games, clothes stores, and food courts drew her to wander around for the better part of the day. Given it was nearing eight o'clock now, though, the public place seemed to still be bustling with activity, something she guessed because it was the weekend and all the little teenage scholars trapped in school were let out. "This just doesn't make sense," Parker finally said to herself outloud, sighing and sounding more than exasperated in thought. It was all his fault, she was sure of it. Him and that stupid cocky little grin of his, that ridiculously always-tousled golden hair, those eyes that managed to laugh with him when he did, whether it was at his own arrogant remarks or with her whenever she did something tremendously foolish (or clumsy... more clumsy than anything, actually). Landon Charin. Yeah, that was a name that was mentioned among racers, she knew that much; either in awe or disgust as he won, usually not needing spectators to boost his own ego in all glory. Just a boy.Well, no, she admitted mentally, wincing visibly at the correction; if he was just a boy, then he'd be human, and that she was aware that he wasn't. On top of everything, Landon was a pixie of all possible things, the last person she probably should be connected to on friendly terms. But that was neither here nor there (for now, anyway) because at the moment the most troubling matter of the fact was what she was feeling for him. Parker wasn't stupid, growing up she had seen fairies her age engage in relationships and flings and such at the Fairy Kingdom, though it wasn't as if she had had any of them herself to personally speak of. Not many boys in the caste system wanted a Grower, she had remembered that with a bitter taste in her mouth; they were shallow enough to look, of course, but it was beneath themselves to lower their standards for the most disregarded of the caste. Parker had grown to form a thick skin to endure it and look past such, telling herself through earlier teen years that she wouldn't have wanted those stupid fairy boys, anyway. Who did, really, want an arrogant prick who thought nothing more of how good looking and titled the body next to them was? With a wry grin, Parker realized she had just described the amount of cockiness that Landon had, but he, unlike the boys of her past, had looked at her a bit differently. He could be an ass, that was true, but that didn't stop him from being a friend. A good one, she had added silently, biting down on her lip, Just a friend, though. That was all she could ever hope him to be, or he. The thought made her scoff a little, in disbelief; Landon didn't see her like that, anyway, so it's not like it mattered. Much. Still, Parker couldn't help but look up from the black-and-white of her shoes and gaze wistfully into the crowds of laughing teens and adults passing her by as she walked, hoping while not hoping for a flash of blond, or a familiar white-toothed smile she knew from memory. He wouldn't be here, she was sure, and it was stupid to think so: Landon lived at his uncle's shop and at the races, didn't he? Probably at one right now, come to think of it. It didn't stop her from wishing, however, and thus becoming even more frustrated at herself for doing so, like she was fifteen years old or something, or like those fairies back at home, or a... a... Human. Parker frowned, expelling a quick huff of breath. How did one stupid boy manage to get under her skin? It was as if she felt something for him past friendship or something, however that was supposed to feel. The idea made her stiffen and look away from where she was going, incredulous rejections forming already in her head at the thought. Him? Impossible. Absurd. Stupid. Ridiculous. Preposterous. Parker was in the middle of thinking of more adjectives before she walked right into someone's chest, stepping back awkwardly before looking straight at the person. At Landon.Yeah. Ridiculous was a good word about now. [/ul] -------------------- APPAREL click!MUSIC i'd lie - taylor swift WITH mister landon! There were a number of things that Landon had made a note of remembering, and a number of things that he had chosen to forget about his life. Or the things that he did in his life, that if he were caught doing, he would instantly have to put up a different persona. But the thing that seemed to be running through his mind, the thing that he couldn’t seem to sweep from his mind was a simple thing. In fact, it wasn’t even a thing, as it was a someone, and that someone that held that vibrant red hair that had first caught his attention when they had first met. Then of course there were those eyes that were so soft in color, but seemed to pose so many different questions; confusion and curiosity were the things that she seemed to feed off of. And while Landon could only claim that he had seen, and talked to her a couple of times before, he found her absolutely delightful. She was just so much fun, and honestly he had found her uncertainty about humanity to be one of the cutest things about her. Landon was hardly afraid to tell her just that as well, even if it was most of the time to simply see how she would react, to see if he could get that red headed girl to turn even more red. To see if she would puff up her cheeks as she narrowed her eyes and try to punch him, even if it was easy for him to evade them, or when they did strike if they didn’t really hurt her. And maybe it simply added onto the fact the the two of them were not supposed to like each other, because he was a Pixie, someone who had been banished from their kingdom, and she was a fairy, even if she wasn’t upon the highest ranks, she was still one of them.
And yet, there was something so different about her, something that had actually drawn Landon towards her, even if it showed more of his, well arrogance than he had liked. He had found himself, even now, curious about her, that she was able to make him laugh when many others found it harder to make him do just that. Landon could tell that there was simply something about her that made her stand out to him, and it wasn’t just because he knew he could make her so flustered with a simple statement or maybe with a certain way he touches her. Or because her red hair makes her stand out of the crowd, it was just something else, something else that Landon had yet to really voice out loud. Running a hand through those curly locks he couldn’t help but bite the bottom of his lip a bit, Parker definitely knew how to make someone think her over, if that was even possible. And it wasn’t even like he was thinking of her in the way that he had done with other girls, it wasn’t like he didn’t like her, but he wasn’t thinking of her as just some girl as someone who he could mess around with and then just forget to call. That was one of the many things that Landon had coached himself to forget, even if most of the time he would still find himself apologizing to the girl, especially when she came to hunt him down, when he never called them back. Sighing softly Landon looked around the overly crowded mall before starting forward once more, this place was one of the last places that Landon wanted to be, but he needed new clothing for his races. Seeing as how most of his other clothes had been torn, from whatever crashes he had been in, and so it would be good to have more untorn clothes, or so he had thought so at the time.
Eyes remaining at the ground, trying to wipe his mind of his thoughts, and trying to focus in on what he had come to this place more, Landon couldn’t help but chuckle slightly to himself. Now, what he was laughing about or what had caused the sudden soft laughter was not something that had been made very clear to someone else who may have been near. To someone who may have been listening to him, or had picked up the soft laughter, but it was namely because when Landon had glanced up he caught sight of someone. Someone who he had, only seconds before, been thinking of. A plan came to his mind, and a cocky grin came to his features, alright so the decision to come to the mall this day, during this time period was definitely about to pay off. Even if it wasn’t really in the way that maybe the girl standing about ten or fifteen feet away from the blonde haired male, oh how this would be fun. Shoving his hands in to the simple jeans that he was wearing Landon took his gaze back down to the ground as he slowly made his way over towards where he had seen his special friend, little miss Parker Bennett. And it worked out just in the way that Landon had planned, when he felt their bodies come into contact, one of his arms came out from his pocket and he found himself looking down towards Parker. That grin of his widened as he saw her, “Well, Parker, I always knew you would come walking into my arms.”
that smirk growing as he then decided to wink at her, before taking his own step, instead of back, forward. Oh yes, invading her space was something at Landon had become very good at. [/blockquote]

he stands there then walks away, my god, if i could only say i'm holding every breath for you. -------------------- Yes, winked like the stupid little playboy heartbreaker she knew he was to other girls, and despite having gained that knowledge and was aware he could very well be the same to her, it didn’t fail to make her heart thump pointlessly faster when he stepped closer and obliterated what could be considered polite, sizable space between two people. And while Parker would have loved to retort something scathing back, anything with the right amount of sarcasm that would make him think twice of hitting on her like she was some random girl he wanted for a predetermined amount of time, she couldn’t make herself do it; she liked the attention, somehow, all overconfident swagger or not. Still, though, she was not beneath herself to call him out on it, though it was less reprimanding than what would have been given to, say, any other boy who would have undoubtedly been on the receiving end of a vicious slap should said any other boy try any line that Landon often did. “I’d be flattered if I wasn’t so sure you’ve said the same thing a dozen times before to a dozen different faces,” she chided him lightly, though most of her consciousness was diverted to being immensely relieved that she could feel the pink fading from her cheeks. She crossed her arms almost defensively, as if it would serve some temporary barrier should her new friend pipe up something worth simultaneously cringing, adoring, and blushing herself senseless over again. It wasn’t fair, and she damn well knew it – and to think of it, he probably did, too; that stupid, remarkable hold he held over her, only too arrogantly aware he was more than capable of making her heartbeat thrum at any given point he wished to, and he had done so several times before already. And what did she have? Parker pursed her lips at him with an audible ‘hmph’, allowing him to think it was slight annoyance on her part at his antics rather than the contemplative frustration over the fact she had no visible hold over him. She couldn’t make him stumble over his legs or words like an idiot, or shake his ever unwavering mountain of self-assured confidence. “What’re you doing here, anyway?” she inquired, her curiosity overcoming her temporary state of aggravation, not even bothering to take another step back and well, restate the natural bounds of personal space like normal people. “I really doubt you stalked me here just to watch me explore,” Parker added as she let her arms fall to her sides, tucking one hand inside the folds of the pocket of her jeans; true to her word, which if Landon had learned enough of her by now would be able to tell, ‘exploring’ was definitely not an understatement. She had a bit too much fun killing time at the arcade, until a oil-faced twelve year old had shot her enough glares that she hopped off DDR and wandered elsewhere, from the different outlets to the wonders of the food court that held so many different kinds of food; she definitely wasn’t aware Korean barbeque existed until today, and that was something she’d come back for… that and the Hawaiian grill place she hadn’t ventured in yet. Eventually, Parker had found herself fiddling with her hair, a habit that had been created whenever a particular smirking face lurked about, actually. And while in most that would have been considered more a flirting technique than anything else, it seemed to be something of more of a nervous habit for the girl, and if not nervous then completely-and-utterly-flustered-without-the-faintest-clue-of-what-to-do-say-or-act, which seemed to cross into the definition of nervousness, but Parker would argue different. She wondered, vaguely, what people who were passing by would have thought – that they were a couple, probably, or if they knew him, then she was just another nameless face to the trade. And while she would have only admitted in her head she preferred the former rather than the latter, either way it didn’t matter to much, because Parker was neither Landon’s new toy (of that, at the very least, she would make sure she would never become) or his girlfriend, and that was that. But if that was truly that, then why did Parker have the uncanny urge to reach over and take his hand in hers, or worse, stand closer? Such acts were quite clearly intimate, too intimate for friends (or well, so she assumed; she had seen some people stretch those boundaries today, who were definitely of the platonic type) and that was all she was and ever wanted to be. Not his – well his! That would have required, as aforementioned, more-than-friendly feelings for him, and while Parker recognized she greatly enjoyed his company, jokes, and all around presence, that was all there was to it. And if, with those purely friendly feelings, came the odd thought or two to be physically close to him and maybe even want that ache settling in her chest, then that was what friends were defined as in the human world. There were a number of things that Landon could claim for his reasoning of coming closer to Parker, things that he could say out loud, things that Landon could make up off the top of his head. But instead, at least for the time he was choosing to remain silent, with that lingering smirk playing on his features as he looked over the person who he had come to consider as his friend. But with the way that he saw her he felt the sudden need to suck in another breath of air, as if suddenly his breath had been taken away from him, but see the thing was those sort of feelings never happened to Landon, he simply didn’t let that sort of thing become a part of him. Perhaps it was the reasoning behind him always racing, to get away from things like this, even if it really only does last for a few seconds, and it could come completely crashing down on top of him. Though the thoughts were swept from his mind as a soft chuckle came from him as he heard the statement made, and he shook his head a bit, “Oh Parker.” He said in a teasing sort of tone, “It’s hardly been dozens of different faces, besides.” He paused a moment as he then let his hand come to brush over her cheek, a sort of light stroke before he let his hand come back down to his side for the time. “This could be the real thing, hardly just a game. As far as your concerned anyway.” that grin lingered there on his features as he came to replay the same question to himself, what if it was?
“Mmmm, but then again, the whole bright red haired thing and the deep blue eyes, totally not my thing. So don’t get all love boggled and cute on me or something, cause I would hate to break your little heart.” And with that he stuck his tongue back out at Parker, a childish manner as if trying to reshow the almost more so asshole side to him, even if it was his own way of trying to take his thoughts away from those questions running through his mind now. Grinning a bit as he lightly flicked her shoulder, something that had become a bit of a habit of his, when it came to him being around Parker at least, it was almost a sort of thing to annoy her while he was simply being playful. Especially since he had seen her fold her arms over her chest, and he chuckled softly, she seemed so guarded whenever he managed to make her blush. Some how he had come to the conclusion that she still didn’t fully comprehend the whole blushing and flirting and playfulness, which well, consisted of many males here in this town, but namely Landon himself. Then again, Landon knew that, here was one of the parts that he adored about her, curiosity about the simplest things, things that he himself had been doing for as long as he could remember. “Awww. Following you? While that sounds like a really interesting idea, I actually came here to find more cement proof clothing, or at least clothing that keeps my skins safe from cement.” He stated, and that was the truth. Placing his arm around her shoulders limply he gently pulled her forward as he walked, “You should come with me, you can help me pick out some new clothes, or we can find you some new clothes, or go into one of those lingerie stores.” Landon said and stroked his chin with his unoccupied arm. “I’m sure you, Miss Parker, could definitely pull off the whole whip and dominatrix sort of thing, you’d definitely find yourself a mate that way.”
Landon had to catch himself from actually trying to envision someone actually being her mate, and frankly the idea of her sleeping around with someone was something that made him uncomfortable. Made him almost feel like they would be taking away something that belonged to him, that he felt the need to protect and to keep to himself. And again, this was something that was so unfamiliar to him, to feel so possessive over a single girl that he had only known for a little while now. Maybe it was because he felt like there was something so much more to her, how he couldn’t help but always study her features, how he found it so cute when she became so flustered or blushed. How whenever he got the chance, or a good enough excuse that he would come and see Parker, that he would try and convince her to come to one of his late night races. But then he had to remind himself that she was probably pretty accident prone, and he had to wonder if letting the new to everything fairy near a place with testostrone filled males, and cars veering off the rode and into objects was the best place for a girl like Parker. Even if this was something that Landon felt himself really wanting to show her, that it was a part of him that he wanted her to actually see not just hear him talk about it. Bringing himself out of his thoughts he looked towards Parker for a moment, without saying anything before deciding to then once again, open that big mouth of his. Though instead of some sort of sarcastic remark or some sort of odd comment that maybe he would maybe ask, he decided to go with something much more civil, a simple question. ”So, did you find anything interesting walking around this over crowded place? Any stores or foods that have intrigued you greatly?” okay, so the last bit was him teasing her slightly, but when it came down to it, it was a real question.
