There were a number of things that he could have been doing at the time, things that would be considered as effective in some ways in his life. Or maybe even just sitting around spending that quality time that he had been so hoping to have back, due to the fact that both of his sisters were back in town. But was he doing any of those said things? Of course he wasn't, that simply wouldn't be his sort of thing, Jacen Black was very well known for putting things like that as far behind him as he possibly could. Especially it meant that he would get to hang out with, well, probably one of the coolest people out there. (Besides Kaliana Sheppard, of course), he got to hang out with one of his best friends out there, in fact this was one of the few people who actually understood who Jacen Black was. Another person out there who shared the same sort of things that Jacen enjoyed and things he liked to do, and while many other's cringe whenever they have both Jacen and this other person around, Jacen loved it. But they always seemed to question why on earth there would ever need to be more than one of them running around, and even why they had some how managed to find each other. Though, only a couple people had ever confronted Jacen about their feelings towards the dorky duo.
Oh, and this person that so many people seemed to find annoying whenever Jacen was by his side, well that would be Rian Williams of course. And hey, as far as Jacen was concerned when the two of them were together it was always going to be a party. Stretching upwards Jacen could hear the clink, clinking of the pounds of quarters that he had come to collect for such an occasion like this. And knowing the amount of time that he had spent here in the past, whether it be by himself or with someone else, that most of these quarters would be gone in the end. And yet, that playful grin still remained on his features, many thoughts running through his mind at the time. Oh yes, this will definitely be a good day. was one of the many things that seemed to continue just going through his mind as he came closer and closer to where Jacen wanted to be. Where he was actually supposed to be about five minutes before, but he had found himself getting distracted by a couple of other things. But he had managed to get over it, when he had checked his watch and saw the time, thankfully he knew that he wouldn't be all that late. Besides, if he knew his friend as well as he would like to think he did, than he was pretty sure that the other male had already started playing video games.
Humming softly under his breath Jacen glanced in a couple of the store windows as he passed them, though this time he wasn't allowing himself to simply come to a stop because something caught his eye. In fact, it really only took him about three or four more minutes before he actually came to his destination. Which of course, his home away from homes, one of the places where he spent a great amount of the money that he earned during his working hours. The place that he could be found when he had needed to be found, well at least most of the time anyway. ”Oh yes, how good it is to be back here.”
and that smile seemed to make it’s way back onto his face as he sucked in a breath of the surrounding air, which smelled a lot like sweat and maybe worn out plastic. Though this was nothing new to him, and it certainly wasn’t something that had ever come to really bother the curly haired male. With his free hand Jacen came to fiddle with the end of his simply white t-shirt. Now thinking that his choice in a long sleeved t-shirt was probably not the best decsion that he had ever made, and so rolled up one sleeve and then decided to do the same with the other. Shifting the bag of quarters from one hand to another as he did his roll up. ”Mmm.” mumbling under his breath he decided to take one final sweep around the room before then letting his gaze settle upon the back of someone he knew all so well. “Well, well. Look who it is.” that playful look seemed to spark up in his eyes, of course Jaen knew that he was the one who was late, and that it should be the other way around. But at the time, he decided to switch things around, besides this was the typical thing that the male would do when it came to his greetings. Not one of those simple, hello, how are you doings, no it was much funner when one was able to come up with their own dialog. Or you know, the kind that could very easily be ripped off from comic books or TV shows that Jacen may or may not have been watching only a certain amount of hours ago. [/blockquote]

Rian had decided early in the day, after waking up yet again at five in the morning, that a day such as this should be spent in adventures of the soul. The only companion to which he would share these adventures, happened to be one people might often critisize him of being far too close with. It was on countless occasions that people suggested involvement of a gay nature about him and his best friend, but he always blew it off, laughing loudly for good measure, since they were both in fact very straight, and very much interesting in the female species, although more so interested in fun and goofy activities. They were what you would consider hardcore nerds, the geeks that everyone thinks are hilarious but don't always really talk to. But neither ever bothered with the thoughts of others, because approval came from each other, as did fun and understanding. Rian smiled as he held his own small bag of quarters. He had made sure to tell Jacen, the best friend previously mentioned, that today they had important business with the games in the seattle mall. They often ventured out to far places just to have fun, because afterall they both had jobs and weren't greedy and stingy people. He knew very well Jacen would bring even more quarters to which they could spend long hours playing and laughing. Money wasn't essential except to make life fun and interesting. It was just like them to waste it away on games, and not even ones you buy and keep to play again. He had spent a little over half his quarters so far, and decided to stop, and save some for when Jacen got here. It was endless, and cost very little, but he still felt it would be more beneficial if he saved at least some of his quarters for games they could play together. Those were the most fun.
The familiar scent of his best friend came on very suddenly, and his grin widened. He didn't turn around, and after some extreme force but on a serious business like face. He finally turned and spoke to his friend. "Good of you to join me, Robin." He said it very professional, a different tone and voice barely noticeable. He looked around suspiciously. "There are serious things to be talked about, but we can't speak here." He grabbed his friends arm and proceeded to drag him to an even more crowded area. Afterall, every smart superhero knew very well that the least suspicion was cast on those in crowds. It was always the people off to the side that were sure to have secret plans rising. And if people were walking past you, the only words they caught on to couldn't lead them to gather any decent information anyway. "Ah, this'll do." They never seemed to greet each other in the normal ways such as a hi and how are you. They always made it interesting, fun, different. He grabbed his friend and hugged him before stepping back with a wide smile. "Well, which games should we hit first?" he said, his normal voice returning fully with the excited edge to it. He had already played a good handful of the games, and knew which ones were broken or harder to beat. They'd win on all of them anyway, he was sure. "Three in the farthest corner are broken or messing up. But most of the others seem fine." He held up his bag of quarters to indicate he had already played some games, and to further demonstrate that this time he hadn't spent them all before Jacen's arrival, as he sometimes did.
Rian felt a low growl mixed with a rumbling surface in his stomach and he groaned loudly. He had forgotten to eat something since this morning's two pieces of toast. Even as a half-breed, he had not been one of the luckier ones to be away from the constant need for a full stomach. Most of the time he was eating like crazy in between doing whatever stunt or activity had been decided for, for that day. "I think we should get something to eat first. I'll pay, if you are hungry too." It wasn't really an offer, so much as a statement that he wanted to pay for his friend. They often took turns on who paid, and although he had done so last time, he still had a lot of money left over from the check before his last one, surprisingly. Money was no object to covet, it was mearly a means to fulfillment to Rian. The food court shouldn't be packed since it was sort of earlier in the day, and lunch was over. Rian had bills in his billfold, but he instantly came to the idea of paying in quarters and seeing the reaction of the cashier at whichever food place they decided to eat at. At least this time, the quarter machine by the gameroom was working, unlike last time, when thankfully they had been prepared but run out of quarters and had to end the trip sooner than planned or wanted. "What're you hungry for, bro?" he asked, his mouth twisting as he looked across and down from the gameroom to where the bright neon lights of the food places were scattered in an odd circle around the large cafeteria mound. "And this time, lets beat the pesky kids to the car tables!" he said, and within a second grabbed Jacen to drag him off yet again. He threw his bag on a seat in the green eighties car table, and smiled. He was victorious. "There. Now where to eat, hmmm."
