Her blind eyes danced with mirth as she fought to keep her face serious, although her lips continued to twitch into a smile. "I'll make sure to pass the message on." The smile had managed to spread across her features now, her eyes glittering with mischief as she grinned broadly at him. It was weird, how carefree she felt. She was sure she'd never felt this...free around anyone but her brother before, not even around the rest of the pack who shared her secret.
The smile faded a little when she sensed the disapproval in his voice when she mentioned how her brother didn't know she was out here. But even though she knew she was being scolded, she couldn't help but feel a little happy when he said she wasn't inept. She was sure he had been about to say something about how she shouldn't be alone out here because she was blind. But no, he was giving her the reasons that applied to everyone else. The reasons that applied to normal people. The fact that he was treating her like an equal, not like someone who was weaker, made her want to grin like a stupid idiot, but she had the sense to look properly abashed. "I know..." she said quietly. Dakota was just a human after all, so he didn't know she could handle a bear or two even if she was blind. The only thing she had really worry about was the leeches.
Ah yes, the leeches. Conner still refused to let her go out and patrol with the other La Push wolves. She couldn't see why it was so awful. She liked phasing and being part of the pack's hive mind. Doing so let her...well, let her see. Just because she was blind didn't mean the other wolves were, and it was through their eyes that she got her first look at the world. It had been so beautiful to see it all, to take in the things they called color and light, something other than her empty darkness. But Conner refused to let her come nonetheless, and the rest of the pack denied her too. They wouldn't admit it but she knew they thought she would just be a liability if she tagged along. The very thought made her feel angry, although part of her knew it was true. Sure, she could fight a little, but the rest of them would be too worried for her to watch out for themselves. But that still didn't stop her from wanting to go.
She couldn't help but feel almost surprised when he cleared his throat awkwardly and she felt her face get hotter. Maybe he didn't like holding her hand. Was that it? But no, that hadn't been that kind of noise. It had been an embarrassed sort of noise. Did that mean that he was having the same sort of feelings about this that she had? The very thought made her feel oddly giddy and made her forget all about wanting to go on patrol, her thoughts returning to their focus on him. Her hand squeezed his a little as she held on. She could only hope he wouldn't take his hand away. For some reason the very thought of that made her want to hang on and refuse to let go. After all, she needed him to guide her, right?
Wait, she needed a guide? That was the first time she had ever thought that. For as long as she could remember she'd always been determined to find her own way, to prove she didn't need to be led everywhere. But for some reason all those years of denying help meant nothing now. All she wanted to do was hold onto his hand, and if that meant letting him lead her around then she could very well put up with that.
"Well...you never know." she grinned wickedly and waggled her eyebrows, then laughed. She was probably making such a fool out of herself, but she didn't care. "And you can call me Clary, Dakota. Clarissa sounds all formal and...weird." she crinkled her nose in distaste. She preferred her nickname over her name, but she normally only let her brother and her best friend call her that. This was the first time she'd actually let someone else call her by that name. Dakota seemed to be the cause of a lot of firsts for Clary.

Just who do you think you are?
Full Name: Conner Alexander Hale
Age: Nineteen
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight as an arrow
Occupation: Handyman. Basically he does odd jobs, everything from building a shed to helping someone move furniture.
Grade: Graduated, thank you very much.
Species: Werewolf.
Look This Way
Eye Color:
Conner's eyes are a pale green color with just a hint of brown to them. Unlike his sister, Clary, his eyes are perfectly healthy and he has no problem with seeing. He has an oddly intense gaze, and sometimes its almost as if he's staring right into your very soul.
Hair Color and Style:
Like Clary, Conner has hair that is a rich, deep chocolate brown. His hair doesn't really have a style per say, unless dragging your brush through your hair before running out of the house counts as a "style". His hair is a little longish and hangs down to just above his eyes, although its certainly not long enough to make it look like a mullet or anything.
Build:
Almost always the goalie during soccer games, Conner is very tall and lean, with the kind of height that allows him to just loom menacingly over practically whoever he chooses. He uses his height to his advantage a lot during soccer games, especially for an intimidation factor. But its not just his height that makes him just a tad bit menacing sometimes. He's not bulging with muscles per say, but it is very clear that he is very strong.
Skin Tone:
Like his sister Clary, Conner is a bit on the pale side, although spending lots of time outdoors has made his skin a bit tanner than it used to be. He doesn't burn or tan very easily, and generally has the same warm off-white skin tone all year round.
Height:
Six foot three.
Weight:
Perfectly healthy, I assure you.
Piercings or Tattoos:
None whatsoever.
Clothing Style:
Not one to care much about fashion, Conner wears clothes that are practical and comfortable. He has never been one to stress over his appearance, and generally he just wears the same old blue and black sports jacket, jeans, and a pair of sneakers. As for shirts, he normally wears solid colored t-shirts that never look particularly interesting. Generally his shirts are brown, black, blue, or gray, although he does occasionally wear a green one.

Strengths:
Devotion
One of Conner's greatest strengths is his absolute devotion to a cause once he takes it up. He never bounces back and forth between things either, he always just makes up his mind and sees it through. Most of the time there is next to nothing that can change Conner's mind or make him double cross anyone. Unless, of course, it somehow involves Clary.
Soccer
A huge soccer aficionado, Conner once dreamed of going on to becoming a professional soccer player and trained accordingly. However, that dream died when his mother vanished into thin air and he had to provide a living for himself and his sister. Nonetheless, soccer is his favorite pastime and he will use practically any excuse to get outside and kick a ball around. He still keeps up with his training and so far his skills are still polished and haven't deteriorated since he graduated and had to quit the varsity team at his old school.
Weaknesses:
Clary
Conner's biggest weakness would be his sister. He would do anything, anything to protect her, no matter what the cost. If someone ever kidnapped Clary he would do whatever they asked to get her back, even if it meant betraying everyone else he cares for.
Devotion
While it is one of his greatest strengths, Conner's sense of devotion is also one of his greatest weaknesses. He can get too involved with a cause, becoming so blinded by his own view that he ignores the opposite side's argument. This can cause some misunderstandings or even cause Conner to be on the wrong side, but his sense of honor would make him stay there. All in all, blind devotion is just dangerous in general, seeing as one should never be completely shut off from hearing the other side of things.
Personality:
Not one to get too worked up over things, Conner is a pretty laid back guy who is not a big fan of violence or fighting. For the most part he is very calm when handling things and rarely loses his temper. Sometimes though it almost seems as if he's too calm, to the point of not having any emotions at all, especially when he is around strangers. He is very stoic and is a very hard person to read. Despite being hard to read himself he has an almost uncanny talent to read other peoples emotions and he is not easily lied to.
A man of few words, Conner is not the most talkative person. However, he does become very talkative and more amiable around his sister, Clary, or around other people he trusts. Even then though he doesn't talk much, although relatively speaking he practically becomes a chatterbox when he's around his friends. He laughs and smiles easily and is actually a big softie, whatever he says to the contrary. He is also very protective of the things he cares for, especially Clary. The only time he would ever really loses his temper would be if someone hurt his sister, and if that happened he would pretty much go ballistic.
Family:
Clarissa Hale [16, sister]
Eliza Hale [45, mother, ballet teacher, presumed dead]
Peter Hale [46, father, banker]
History:
Conner was the first child born to Eliza and Peter Hale, and for the most part his early childhood was a happy one. His parents were loving, they lived in a good house, and all seemed well in the world. Sure, his parents were never home because they both had to work, but it wasn't so bad, and when his parents told him he was going to have a new sister Conner was elated. He would finally have someone to play with, and he looked forward to his new sibling almost as much as his parents did. And unlike them, he wasn't disappointed when she turned out to be blind instead of the perfect little girl they wanted.
It didn't take long after her birth before his parents carefully cultured facade started to crumble. They started to fight, and Conner noticed bruises start to appear on his mothers arms. Confused and afraid, Conner stayed out of it all and did his best to keep Clary away from their spats. It didn't take him that long to figure out that his mother would do little to keep him and Clary sheltered from the fighting, so he decided to protect her himself. When the fights got heated he took her to the park. When his sister started to get in trouble for making little mistakes as she tried to help their parents he would take the fall for her.
Finally, after five years of their fighting, their father packed up and left. Eliza filed for divorce soon after and managed to win custody, although she won barely any of the money. An intense loathing for his father started to develop then, and it was then that Conner started to become somewhat of a hermit as his life became dedicated to caring for his sister while his mother worked. As Clary got older she encouraged him to live his own life, insisting that she didn't want him to babysit her for the rest of her life. He reluctantly did, even joining the varsity soccer team at their school thanks to her urging. For a while it seemed as if things were starting to look up.
And then their mother vanished into thin air without warning, leaving her debts at her sons feet and leaving both of them alone. Their father refused to help them, leaving them to fend for themselves. Conner was forced to use almost all of their inheritance to pay back the debtors, and in the end he and Clary were forced to move from their old home to Oregon. Conner claimed he had found work there, although he hadn't, and started a desperate job hunt as he tried to provide for himself and his sister.
Thats when the shifting started.
It hit both him and Clary unexpectedly, although thankfully some of the La Push wolves managed to find them. They were offered a home on the reservation and Conner managed to find work doing odd jobs. The home was a small house of course but it was better than nothing. Since then Conner has been a loyal and devoted member of the Pack, keeping an eye on his sister while attending to his job and new duties as a packmember.
